Escape To Miami for A Winter Beach Getaway

Think Miami is just for summer? It actually makes a fabulous winter getaway that can take you far away from the snow covered grounds back home. The average high temperatures for December, January, February, and March are 78-, 76-, 78-, and 80-degrees, respectively. The average low temperatures are all in the 60s for each of those months. Doesn’t sound too bad, does it? Let’s discuss just some of what you can do in Miami and Miami Beach if you’re thinking of taking a winter beach getaway.

Winter Party Festival
Taking place from March 1-7, 2017 in Miami Beach, there’s still plenty of time to make your travel arrangements. Several events will take place during this time. The Winter Party Festival raises money for the LGBTQ community, so not only is it a great party, but the money is also going to make a difference. Since the festival was founded in 1994, more than $2 million has been donated. Currently, individual tickets are available as are multi-event passes.

Restaurants
You’re bound to get hungry at some point, so you may as well grab some delicious food during your winter trip to Florida. There are a multitude of different restaurants at which to dine that offer a variety of cuisines. Just some of the restaurants to consider include Byblos, My Ceviche, Finka Table & Tap, Joe’s Stone Crab, La Mar by Gaston Acurio, Mandolin Aegean Bistro, and Versailles.

Miami Beach

Art Basel
Taking place in Miami Beach from December 1 – 4, 2016, Art Basel features dozens of creative works from those all over the world. You’ll see everything from paintings and photographs to sculptures and films. It’s one of the hottest events of the year and thousands of people attend. While you’re there, you can also stop at the bookstore, take a guided tour, or grab some delicious food. The event takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center on December 1 from 3 pm to 8 pm, on December 2 & 3 from noon to 8 pm, and on December 4 from noon to 6 pm.

Museums
Whether the sun is shining or it’s raining a bit, museums in the area are great to visit by those of any age. There are many different options to consider including the Lowe Art Museum, Bass Museum of Art, the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, the Miami Children’s Museum, and the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

To make sure your trip to Miami or Miami Beach this winter goes as smoothly as possible, one of the best things you can do is research. Before you go any place in the area, read the reviews by those who have been there before you to get an idea of whether or not it might be worth the trip. Additionally, try to get your tickets or make your restaurant reservations before you leave. This allows you to have in place as many of your activities as possible without doing planning last minute. Lastly, have a fantastic trip to Florida and make sure to make the most of your time in the sunshine.
