Orlando on a Rainy Day

Orlando is a beautiful city in Florida that has more than 255,000 residents. It’s primarily known for its theme parks, and visiting them typically requires quite a bit of time spent outdoors. So what are you supposed to do if it rains? Sure you could head to the theme parks anyway and do some indoor activities, but there are many other places around Orlando that are worth a visit as well, and you can visit them even when it rains. Check out the following four places where you can go in Orlando when a rainy day threatens your fun.

Orlando Museum of Art

Orlando Museum of Art
Established in 1924, the Orlando Museum of Art is a perfect place to go in Orlando on a rainy (or sunny!) day. With multiple collections such as the African Art Collection, Contemporary Art Collection, and Contemporary American Graphics Collection as well as programs, events, tours, and more, there is plenty to do. They’re closed on Mondays, but Tuesday through Friday they’re open 10am to 4pm and on Saturday and Sunday they’re open from noon to 4 pm.

Orlando Science Center
On East Princeton Street in Orlando is the Orlando Science Center where you’ll find a whole slew of different things to do including interactive exhibits, movies, laser light shows, sky viewing at the Crosby Observatory, and more. There are also several events that take place, so make sure to check out the event calendar. The science center is open every day starting at 10am. Children who are 2 and under receive free admission while those who are older pay between $13.95 and $19.95.

WonderWorks
This 35,000-square-foot indoor amusement park has plenty to keep you and the entire family entertained from the first moment you get there to when you’re ready to leave. Just some of their activities include an indoor ropes course, a dinner magic show, 4D Theater, laser tag, over 100 interactive exhibits, and much more. Children 3 and under receive free admission. WonderWorks is open every day of the year from 9am until midnight.

Go Shopping
Your ordinary shopping experience this is not. Orlando has so many places where you can go and buy some incredible items. Just some of the many places at which you can shop include The Mall at Millenia, the Orlando International Premium Outlets, and the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets. There are more than enough stores to check out during your visit. Even if it’s raining outside, you’ll still be able to be happy and dry inside while having some shopping fun in the process.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the incredible restaurants in Orlando. There are so many at which you can dine regardless of the type of cuisine you’re craving; there truly is something for everyone. Don’t let the rainy weather keep you stuck inside a hotel room while you’re visiting Orlando! Whether you’re young or young-at-heart, you’ll be entertained from the moment you get up to the moment you’re ready to sleep. Get out and explore the area and see what else this fantastic city has to offer. You won’t be disappointed.
