Pompano Beach

Pompano Beach, Florida
Sharing its inviting waters with neighbors Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and Boca Raton, Pompano Beach is yet another Florida destination that lives up to the hype when it comes to entertaining sunworshippers and beach bums. Its one of those places that offers everything you could possibly desire – from a terrific beach and splendid shopping to fine dining to glitzy casinos – no wonder its called the Heart of Gold Coast. Just spending time on a beach and gambling are popular things to do in Pompano Beach, but don’t ignore its outdoor wonders. There’s fishing, boating and scuba diving, each more exciting than the next. Special events include a seafood festival held in April, a fishing rodeo in May and the December boat parade.

Attractions such as the Pompano Municipal Pier keep you occupied during your trip to Pompano Beach. The pier hosts a quiet little beach, a few parks and a small splash park for young kids. The beach is a great place to spend a warm quiet afternoon, provided you bought enough sunscreen, and there are enough waves to play with. Just make you don’t miss the Festival Flea Market, a shopper’s paradise that stretches over a quarter-mile long area and offers more than 500 stores and restaurants. It presents a nostalgic old world open air market and makes you feel as if you’ve really transported back into time. You also get to choose from the hottest labels and the latest fashions. Of course, there’s a Vine Vera store to visit as well!

As the sun goes down, take the party indoors to the Isle Casino & Racing at Pompano Park. Fling, the main bar at the casino, offers 9 suspended ceilings that play trippy images of bubbling water and blooming flowers. The Trackside Bar located on the second floor is famous for its spectacular racetrack views.
