Visiting the Schönbrunn Palace

There are a lot of different tour and ticket options to consider when you’re visiting the Schönbrunn Palace. For example, you can take the Imperial Tour which consists of viewing 22 rooms in approximately 30-40 minutes, as well as the Grand Tour which covers 40 rooms in around an hour. There are also passes to consider—such as the Family Pass—as well as add-ons and combined tickets. Before you book your tickets, make sure to check the dates and that the tours and passes you’re interested in will be available when you’re planning on being there.

Hours for visiting the Schönbrunn Palace change throughout the year. From April 1 to June 30 and September 1 to November 5, they’re open 8am to 5:30pm. From July 1 to August 31 they’re open 8am to 6:30pm, and from November 6 to March 30, they’re open 8am to 5pm. They are open on public holidays. Last admission allowed is 45-minutes before they close.

Rules of visiting

Take note that when you’re planning on visiting Schönbrunn Palace that there are several rules to adhere to. For example, you cannot bring your car or bike into the park area. You’re also going to have to leave your four-legged family member at home. Additionally, even though you’re likely going to want to capture the beauty of the Schönbrunn Palace, photos and filming in the palace aren’t allowed; a permit is needed.
