Fun Vacation Destination Ideas in Florida

So you’re thinking of heading down to Florida and you’re trying to pick a fun vacation destination that’s going to be best for you and those you’re traveling with whether it’s with family, friends, a significant other, or maybe you’re just taking a fantastic solo trip. Florida is a gorgeous state with a lot to offer and a plethora of activities to do, so how are you supposed to decide where to go? The following are some tips that can help you narrow down your options when you’re trying to decide on fun vacation destinations in Florida.

Decide About the Theme Parks
Florida is known for its theme parks, so if you’re going to want to visit them, it’s better to stay as close as possible so you can get an early start and spend a good amount of time there without having to do a long drive back to where you’re staying. You have many options to consider including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, and Busch Gardens.

Think About A Nature Trip
If you’re looking to learn more about and get in touch with nature, you can’t really go wrong almost anywhere you go in the state. There’s so much to learn practically everywhere, but just a couple of the places to consider are the 46,000-acre Timucuan Ecological & Historic Preserve and the 54,000-acre Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park. Also, no Florida nature list would be complete without mentioning the massive 1.5-million-acre Everglades National Park.

Consider the Beach
There are some stunning beaches in Florida that are well-worth the visit. You can do everything from going swimming and snorkeling to shelling and sunbathing. If you think that a beach vacation is in your future, some destinations to look into including Fort Lauderdale, Siesta Key, Clearwater, Sanibel, Captiva Island, and Miami Beach.

Take A Food Tour
There are some truly fantastic places to get delicious food everywhere around Florida, but you can’t go wrong with doing a planned out food tour. Just a few cities on the very long list to consider visiting include Miami, Palm Beach, and Orlando. Little Havana is a neighborhood in Miami that gets its own special mention.

Consider the Time of Year
If you’re looking to travel to a particular Florida destination, find out what it’s like during the time you’re thinking of going. For example, if you want to avoid going during spring break, you’ve just narrowed down your dates, and if there’s a particular event you want to attend, then you now have set dates to work with. The weather is also something to consider, especially when hurricane season is factored in.

If you know anyone who lives in Florida or has been to the state, don’t hesitate to ask them for recommendations for some of the best places to go and things to do. Also, keep in mind that while it can be great to plan an itinerary, consider leaving some wiggle room so you can do some spontaneous activities that you will undoubtedly come across during your trip.
