Located on NW Everett Street in Portland, Oregon is the Lan Su Chinese Garden, a gorgeous tranquil oasis right in the middle of the city. If you’re looking for a place to escape the stresses of everyday life, this is certainly one place to find some peace in a world where noise and rushing tends to reign supreme. It came to be thanks to Portland and its sister city in China – Suzhou – working together to create the masterpiece that is the Lan Su Chinese Garden. Shopping
You don’t need to have a green thumb to stop by the Lan Su Chinese Garden Shop. It’s here that you’ll find a whole slew of different gifts that you can get for yourself or someone else. Just some of the wonderful items you’ll find include books, photographs, jewelry, cards, and more. Take note that their hours are not the same year-round. During the summer – March 15 to Halloween – they’re open from 10 am to 7:30 pm, and during winter – November 1 to March 14 – they’re open 10 am to 4:30 pm.

Plants
You won’t be able to help but marvel at all the gorgeousness around you at the Lan Su Chinese Garden. With hundreds of different species of plants and trees, there’s so much to catch your eye. Whether you’re interested in seeing bamboo or peonies, Japanese White Pine or Chinese Plum, something else entirely or a mix of everything, you’ll certainly be able to be surrounded by so much beauty and learn something new in the process. Teahouse
As if all the aforementioned wasn’t enough of a reason to visit the Lan Su Chinese Garden, there’s also a teahouse that you can stop at. While you can get tea, of course, if you get hungry, there are also some food options that you can get including dried fruit, mooncakes, steamed buns, noodle bowls, and nuts. Bring your appetite and your love of all things fabulous.

Cost
So if you’re interested in visiting Lan Su Chinese Garden, you probably want to know what it’ll cost you to get in. If you’re going to be buying individual admission tickets, the prices are currently $9.50 for general admission, $7.00 for student admission, and $8.50 for senior admission. Free admission is granted to members as well as children under 5. Let’s say you’re going with your family and want to save a few dollars off the cost. You can do that if you purchase the Family Admission Ticket which is ideal for two adults and two students and costs $28.00.
