Visiting Pittsburgh’s Coffee Shops

If you’re a big fan of coffee, you’re certainly not going to have a problem finding somewhere to go in Pittsburgh. There are so many places from which to choose, and it’s worth the trip for coffee connoisseurs to head to the city and see what they’re all about. With that said, let’s talk about just some of the reasons why you might want to make a trip to check out some of Pittsburgh’s coffee shops.

You’re Supporting Local Businesses
It’s not easy to run a business, so the more support you get from the community, the better, and the coffee shops in Pittsburgh are no exception. Those who own and work at the respective businesses work incredibly hard, and in addition to being local businesses themselves, quite a few also get some of their products and/or ingredients from other businesses in the area. This means when you show up to a Pittsburgh coffee shop to get a jolt of caffeine and some good food, you’re helping to support a community as a whole.

It’s a Chance to Try New Things
Many of the coffee shops pride themselves on coming up with some of their own special coffees and food that you likely may not be able to get elsewhere, or at the very least, not at very many other places. Some even sell coffee by the bags, so if you like it enough, you can take some home with you.

You Can Get Some Great Eats
Although we’re talking about coffee shops in Pittsburgh, that doesn’t mean that you can’t get good food there as well, especially when it comes to pastries and other treats. Consider it an opportunity to try some fabulous food in a fun atmosphere.

You’re Getting More Rooted Into the Community
Quite a few of the coffee shops in Pittsburgh have such a welcoming atmosphere that it’s hard not to want to spend time there and become even more rooted in the community. In addition to being a local hangout, there are coffee shops that host events – such as live entertainment – that encourage everyone to gather. It’s an opportunity to meet locals and visitors alike.

The Baristas Have a Passion
Many of the coffee shops in Pittsburgh aren’t just about great coffee and food, but they make sure the service is top notch as well, and that includes providing barista training. There are even places that encourage baristas to come up with their own beverage that might be featured at their workplace. It’s for all that and then some that the baristas have a real passion for what they do, and it shows.

There’s a Lot of Eye Candy
For many of the shops, it’s about the complete atmosphere and making their space pleasing to the eye so it’s where you’ll continue to want to spend your time. It’s in the details whether that pertains to flowers, books, etc. You may even notice that some of them feature gorgeous artwork, some of which is done by local artists. Depending on where you go, you may even be able to buy some pieces.

Now that you know a little more about what the Pittsburgh coffee scene has to offer, all that’s left for you to do is plan your trip!
