Niagara Wine Tours
When you hear about Niagara, you probably think of beautiful Niagara Falls, but did you know that there’s actually a great wine area that you can visit? It’s located right between Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment and it features a multitude of fantastic wineries that will offer you quite the experience. If you could use a little break from the hustle-and-bustle of everyday life and are in desperate need of a vacation, the following are some ideas for the types of wine tours that you can take.
Guided Tour by Car/SUV
One way to tour the Niagara wine region is by booking a tour that will take you around by car or SUV. You’ll pay a flat rate and a tour guide will take you around to a select number of wineries where you’ll have a certain amount of time to explore each one. You may be able to get certain perks, such as doing a special tour at a particular winery, that you may not be able to get if you were to go on your own, and you’ll get picked up and dropped off without the worry of having to drive. Along the way, you could also gain some vast knowledge about the area and the wineries from the tour guide.
Self-guided Tour by Car/SUV
It’s going to take some planning, but you could always do a self-guided tour of wineries in the Niagara region. One of the best ways to go about it is to choose which wineries you want to visit and figure out if they have any special tastings, tours, or events throughout the day that you want to attend. If so, then you’ll have to plan your tour around those times. Don’t forget to check each of their opening and closing times so you can plan accordingly.
Take a Bike Tour
Imagine being on a bike as you ride through the beautiful Niagara wine area. It’s a great opportunity to be out in the fresh air, taste some wines, and get some exercise all at the same time. You could rent a bike and go on your own or you can take a guided bike tour where chances are everything from the bike to the helmet will be provided to you at a flat cost.
Helicopter Tour
While you’re not going to be going from winery to winery via a helicopter, a helicopter tour could give you the ability to have an aerial tour of the area before you get dropped off at one winery. You’ll likely even be able to get a view from above of Niagara Falls. It can certainly make for one special outing.
There are so many different options that you could do when you want to tour some of the many wineries in the Niagara region, and all you have to do is a little research and planning. The beautiful weather is coming up, so what better way to spend your time outdoors whether you choose to go with friends, family, or a significant other?
