Can’t Miss Spots in Singapore
So you’re planning a trip to Singapore and you’re looking for some ideas about what to do. While shopping is certainly a must as is getting some delicious food, there are plenty of other activities you can do and places you can see that can keep you entertained during your time in the fantastic locale. Ready to get some ideas for great spots to visit in Singapore that will ensure you don’t have a single second of boredom?
Singapore Botanic Gardens
Founded in 1859, the Singapore Botanic Gardens – which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is an ideal spot where you can take a relaxing walk through the trails, take a guided tour, take your dog for a walk, and just enjoy the natural beauty around you. The Singapore Botanic Gardens are free to enter, and considering they’re open from 5 am to midnight, it’s a great place to visit whether you’re a morning person or a night owl.
Night Safari
Chances are you’ve been to a zoo at some point but you very likely went during the day. What about going to a safari park where you get to see what the animals do at night? Night Safari, the first nocturnal zoo in the world, opened in 1994 and provides you with an incredible and unique experience. It’s no surprise as to why more than a million people visit each year. They don’t even open until 7:15 pm, the last admission is 11:15 pm, and they close at midnight. Most shops and restaurants open at 5:30 pm so you can get there early and get settled before your experience gets started.
Singapore Flyer
The Singapore Flyer is a huge observation wheel that opened in 2008 right on Raffles Ave. It’s a whopping 165 m high and 150 m in diameter and offers an absolutely astounding view. If you’re looking to get a great look at Singapore from above, this is one of the best ways to do it considering you can see about 45 kilometers away. Each rotation is approximately 30-minutes. The Singapore Flyer is open daily at 8:30 am with the last flight being at 10 pm. This allows you to have a great view whether you want to see it in the daytime or at night.
Tiger Sky Tower
So maybe you’d rather go in an observatory tower than on a wheel (or do both!), in which case, the Tiger Sky Tower has a view height that’s 131 m above sea level making it Singapore’s highest observation tower. Located in Sentosa, the views from the tower are well worth making the trip. They’re open 9 am to 9 pm with the last admission being at 8:45 pm.
Now that you know a little more about what Singapore has to offer, we wouldn’t be surprised if you’re already planning on making reservations. With so much to see and do, there’s something for everyone and certainly an activity for you to do every minute of your trip. It’s a vacation you won’t soon forget for all the best reasons.
