With wine tourism growing in leaps and bounds, many of these vineyards have managed to garner international fame as well. Vine Vera discusses its favorite US vineyards in this article. What makes the vineyards on this list so special is that apart from offering a thoroughly enjoyable experience, these vineyards also boast of providing visitors with breathtaking natural beauty and superior quality wines.
Monte Rosso Vineyard, Sonoma County
One of the very first vineyards to appear on this list is one of the oldest vineyards in California, the Monte Rosso Vineyard. It is famous for its old-vine Zinfandels and intense Cabernet Sauvignons. The first vine was planted around the year 1880 and this exciting vineyard was owned by the Martini family for decades before it went to Gallo. The blackberry-rich 2002 Ravenswood Monte Rosso Zinfandel is an ideal indicator of why this vineyard is so famous.
Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard, New York
If you’re looking for an intimate vineyard tour, the Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard is an ideal place to go to. The owners offer visitors an extremely intimate and exciting vineyard tour that also lets them learn more about the local growing conditions and the challenges faced while growing the wines before they sample the Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Sannino Bella wines. The Vine to Wine program run by the owners is particularly popular.
Banshee Wines, Healdsburg, California
The tasting room at Banshee Wines is reason enough to visit this exciting vineyard. Banshee Wines actually started off with a blast with its first vintage getting sold out within 3 months. By the end of its first year, Banshee Wines had managed to make quite a name for itself. The guys at Banshee are entirely committed to ensuring that guests have a blast while at Banshee Wines.
Pride Mountain Vineyards, Napa Valley
The Pride Mountain Vineyards are located at a height of 2000 feet. This historic estate is famous for its exotic views of the Mount St. Helena and the breathtaking natural beauty of its sun-kissed vineyards. After enjoying the production facility, guests are taken to the 23000 sq. ft. barrel cellar that is located about 50 feet below the ground. Two vintages from the vineyard have also received a 99-point score from some of the leading wine critics in the world. Vineyard tours operate 6 days every week and you need to make an advance reservation.
Seven Springs Vineyard, Willamette Valley
The Seven Springs Vineyard might have been cut in half because of a legal settlement, but its quality remains unchanged over the years. A trip to the Seven Springs Vineyard can actually prove to be a lot of fun. Vine Vera recommends you to try the St. Innocent Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir while at the Seven Springs Vineyard. It offers herbal notes and a black raspberry fruity flavor and is really the top bottle at the vineyard.
McFadden Farm, Mendocino County
The vineyards in McFadden Farm have been producing delightful wines since the year 1970. The owners were one of the early adopters of the organic farming movement and their vineyards have been cultivating organic grapes for more than 40 years. The McFadden Tasting Room is located in Hopland, about 30 minutes away from Healdsburg.
Jordan Vineyard and Winery, Sonoma County
The Jordan Vineyard and Winery is located on the hills of Alexander Valley. It boasts of offering visitors a fairy tale chateau and an extremely enjoyable 90-minute tour. This 1100 acre site is home to about 225 acres of vineyards and 18 acres of olive groves. The tour takes place in the cobbled terrace, the barrel room and the winery before guests are taken to a secret tasting room that is actually hidden behind a bookshelf.
