A Day in Solana Beach
Solana Beach, the coastal community located in California, is a lovely little city that offers plenty to do. A day certainly isn’t long enough, but if it’s all you have, you should make the most of it, right? Since you only have 24 hours to spend in Solana Beach, there’s no time to waste. Let’s discuss some of the activities that you can do during your visit.
Explore a Beach
There are several beaches throughout Solana Beach that you could visit such as Fletcher Cove. With the nickname of Pillbox, this particular beach has a basketball court, picnic tables, and more. Lifeguards are on duty all year, free parking is available, and the train station is close by. You could easily spend several hours at Fletcher Cove or one of the other beaches in Solana Beach just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine, views, and fresh air.
Grab Some Delicious Food
We’d be remiss if we didn’t discuss some of the delicious food that you could get while you’re in Solana Beach. The Solana Beach Farmer’s Market is a great place to start, but that’s only if you’re in Solana Beach on Sundays between noon and 5 pm. It’s here that you can find a slew of goodies ranging from pastries and bread to sauce and vegetables. When it comes to restaurants, just some of the many you can visit include Hide Away Cafe, Claire’s on Cedros, Naked Cafe, and Lockwood Table Cafe.
Do Some Shopping
Want to do some shopping in Solana Beach? Consider heading to the Cedros Design District. You’ll be able to shop for gift items, home furnishings, jewelry, clothing, and more from places that include Chicweed, Courtyard Pottery, Strawberry Intimates, House Vintage, TaDah Home Decor, and Temecula Olive Oil Company. If you want to see what other types of shops you can visit while you’re spending time in the Cedros Design District, you can check out the Business Directory for a full list.
Visit a Winery
Love wine? While you’re in Solana Beach, you might want to stop at Carruth Cellars. You don’t need to make an appointment to visit the winery and do a wine tasting. They’re open 7 days a week and you can try the wines by the glass or by the bottle – $15 for 6 wines – and there is no corkage fee. They’re open 11am to 10pm and they’re also located close to the train station so it’s incredibly convenient to get to.
The aforementioned is just the beginning of what you’ll have to look forward to when you visit Solana Beach. Just remember to do your research beforehand so you can plan accordingly since you only have a day to do all you want to in the city. Considering how much there is to do, you might not be able to get it all done, but with careful planning, you can still see and do a good amount. It’s a place you’ll love visiting and a trip you won’t soon forget.
