Cocoa Beach and “I Dream of Jeannie”
Cocoa Beach is a beautiful little city in Florida with a little over 11,000 residents, but did you know it was also the setting (along with surrounding areas) for the sitcom “I Dream of Jeannie” which aired from 1965 to 1970? The sitcom starred Barbara Eden as the genie named Jeannie as well as Larry Hagman who played astronaut Tony Nelson who became Jeannie’s master after finding the bottle. Although the show was actually filmed in California, Cocoa Beach has become forever tied to it. If you’re a fan of “I Dream of Jeannie,” there are quite a few places around the city that you can visit that pay homage to the fantastic sitcom of the past.

The sign gives a little information about the series and describes how Barbara Eden herself visited the site of the unveiling of the street sign in 1969.
