The Napa Valley Wine Train teams up with wineries to offer a variety of winery tours so you can take a tour and do a wine tasting. Currently, you can take The Castle Winery Tour involving Castello di Amorosa, the Raymond Winery Tour, the Grgich Hills Estate day or evening tour, or the Ambassador Winery Tour that involves the Charles Krug Winery and Raymond Vineyards. Cost
There’s not one set cost for riding the Napa Valley Wine Train; it all depends on the type of package you choose. For example, their Romance on the Rails package starts at $234 per person, the Gourmet Express package starts at $129 per person, and The Silverado Car package starts at $129 per person.

Rail Cars and Rail Corridor
Many of the rail cars that are part of the Napa Valley Wine Train are around 100-years-old and the rail corridor is around 150-years-old, so you’re encountering a lot of history during your trip. After the Napa Valley Wine Train purchased the cars in 1987, they lovingly restored them and added some additional elegant touches to make a wonderful creation for all those who step aboard.

The Basics
The Napa Valley Wine Train has been operating since starting up in 1989. Guests board at the McKinstry Street Station, which is located at 1275 McKinstry Street in the Oxbow district. The train will then go about 36-miles round-trip up to St. Helena and back which takes about 3-hours. They have an onboard wine list that features about 40 different wines, and a wine shop that offers about 500 types of wine. You can also bring your own wine, but they do charge a corkage fee.
