Fun Facts About Coachella Valley

You’ve probably heard of Coachella, but have you heard of Coachella Valley? It’s located in Southern California and regardless of your interests, it offers something for everyone. This desert valley with a population of over 443,000 is an interesting place, so let’s talk a little more about it and find out some facts that you may have never known before.

The Cities
Coachella Valley itself isn’t a city, but it is comprised of a bunch of towns, unincorporated communities, and cities. It’s here that you’ll find places that include Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Thousand Palms, La Quinta, Indian Wells, Indio, Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Bermuda Dunes, Palm Desert, and Coachella. Each locale has something special about it, for example, Palm Springs is an extremely popular resort city with a lot of luxury to offer and Indio is best known as the host city for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The Temperatures
Coachella Valley has quite a range of temperatures throughout the year. While December is usually the coldest month, July is typically the hottest. Let’s look at Indio as an example. The average low temperature in the city in January is 45-degrees while the average high is 72-degrees. While the average low of 80-degrees in July isn’t so bad, the average high the same month is 107-degrees, both of which are the averages as well for August.
