Change Your Life by Visiting These Places
Travel can be many different things to many different people. It can be something bothersome but necessary for one’s career, or it can be enjoyable and looked forward to. It can be relaxing, soothing, and stress-relieving, or it can be exiting, thrilling, and full of adventure. It can be a means to an end—such as when visiting family or friends—or and end in itself, such as a pleasant vacation.
But today, Vine Vera would like to add one more thing to the list of what travel can be: life-changing. We think that taking a trip to the right place can be more than just fun; it can be eye-opening and change the way you look at the world. To illustrate this, here are just a few travel destinations that can change your life.
The Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA
At Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, you’ll be swept away by the size and scope of this great chasm in the earth. Stand on the precipice and take in the natural wonder, go on one of many hiking or camping tours available, head down to the bottom and see it from a new perspective, and even go rafting and tubing through the Colorado river, which runs through the base of the canyon.
Tokyo, Japan
Want to experience a bustling city with an ambiance, culture, and eccentricity that’s likely wholly new and exciting to you? Tokyo is not only the largest, most populated city in Japan, it’s got the biggest population in the world. There’s so much to see and do here, we couldn’t possibly hope to approach everything even if we wrote a whole article about it, but you can start by going on a couple sightseeing tours that will point out all the major attractions to you, and check out the Tsukiji Market, the Tokyo National Museum, and the Meiji Shrine for some fascinating experiences.
Niagara Falls, New York State, USA
Niagara falls is truly a sight to behold, and one that everyone should see at some point in their lives. Come for the falls and stay for the variety of restaurants, arcades, and other attractions.
Venice, Italy
Venice, the beautiful, romantic city with waterways instead of roads and boats instead of cars. You’ve doubtless seen it in famous paintings, movies, and more, so now go visit it for yourself! You’ll be transfixed just taking a casual stroll through the city to nowhere in particular, but while you’re there, you should definitely check out the major attractions. You’ll want to head to the piazza Sam Marco for three stunning sights in the same square: St Mark’s basilica, Doge’s Palace, and the magnificent clock tower Torre dell’Orologio. You’ll also absolutely want to travel the waterways in a gondola while you’re in the iconic city (what trip to Venice would truly be complete without a gondola ride?). If you’re a fan of fine wines, you’ll also be enchanted to learn of a common custom called the “ombra,” a tiny glass of wine you drink quickly like a shot, savoring the complex flavor of the wine in one gulp. Going on an ombra-crawl around the city (like a much fancier, more sophisticated version of a pub crawl) is a great way to taste a variety of wines in one night.
